Air Force PFRA Pass/Fail Checker

Check your push-ups, plank, and 2-mile run against the minimum PFRA passing standard for your age and sex.

This is a pass/fail checker, not a full score calculator. The PFRA is a very new standard (effective 1 March 2026), and its official scoring charts were not accessible to us at the time this tool was built (blocked by the Air Force's own site, and too new to have a public archive copy). We could independently confirm the minimum passing threshold for every age bracket from two independent sources, but not the full intermediate point curve between minimum and maximum. Rather than guess at intermediate scores, this tool only tells you whether you've cleared the documented minimum in each event. See below for the full explanation.

Checker Input

Your age determines which of the 9 brackets applies
PFRA minimums differ by sex
Standard push-ups, correctly performed reps
Total time holding proper forearm plank position
Total run time for 2 miles

About the PFRA and This Tool

The Physical Fitness and Readiness Assessment (PFRA) became the Air Force's official fitness test on 1 March 2026, replacing the previous three-component assessment. It has four weighted components: a cardio event (2-mile run or HAMR shuttle, 50 points), muscular strength (push-ups or hand-release push-ups, 15 points), core endurance (sit-ups, cross-leg reverse crunches, or forearm plank, 15 points), and body composition measured by waist-to-height ratio (20 points) — for 100 points total. Passing requires a composite score of 75 or higher, plus the minimum standard in every individual component.

Why This Tool Only Checks Pass/Fail

Every other calculator on this site (Army AFT, USMC PFT/CFT, Navy PRT) is built by downloading the official scoring PDF directly, parsing its complete point tables, and cross-checking the result against multiple independent anchor values. We tried the same approach here, but the official PFRA scoring charts (hosted at afpc.af.mil) returned an access-denied response on every direct request, and the document is too new to have been captured by any public web archive.

What we could do: cross-verify the minimum passing threshold and maximum (full-points) threshold for push-ups, plank, and the 2-mile run across all 9 age brackets, using two independent secondary compilations that agreed with each other. What we could not do: verify the scoring curve between those two points. Rather than invent intermediate values through linear interpolation and present them as if they were official, this tool reports only whether your result clears the documented minimum — which is also the information that actually determines pass or fail.

This tool does not include body composition (waist-to-height ratio), since it carries real weight toward the composite score (20 of 100 points) and we did not have reliable threshold data for it. A true PFRA pass also requires meeting that standard.

Data Source

Minimum and maximum thresholds compiled from secondary sources referencing the AFPC PFRA Scoring Charts (effective 1 March 2026, corrected 17 March 2026) and DAFMAN 36-2905. Always confirm your official score through your unit's fitness assessment cell before relying on this for a record test or fitness report.

Frequently Asked Questions

What events are on the Air Force PFRA?

Four components: cardio (2-mile run or HAMR shuttle, 50 points), muscular strength (push-ups, 15 points), core endurance (plank or sit-ups, 15 points), and body composition via waist-to-height ratio (20 points), for 100 points total.

What's a passing PFRA score?

A composite score of 75 or higher, with the minimum met in every individual component. Missing the minimum in any one component fails the PFRA regardless of your composite total.

Why doesn't this tool give an exact score?

The PFRA is brand new and its official scoring charts weren't accessible to verify a full intermediate point scale. We'd rather tell you clearly whether you pass or fail than show you an invented number dressed up as official.
