Affiliate Disclosure

The short version

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. The Ruck Calculator is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com. When you click one of our Amazon links and buy something — not necessarily the item we linked to — we may earn a small commission. This costs you nothing extra; the price you pay is the same whether you came from our link or went to Amazon directly.

How our Amazon links work

Where possible, our gear picks link to an Amazon search results page for that product rather than a single fixed product listing. We do this because a specific listing's price, stock, and seller can change at any time, and a stale link can point you to the wrong price or a discontinued listing. Searching keeps you looking at Amazon's current results for that item.

We don't display live Amazon prices on this site. Any pricing information in our gear guides is shown as a relative tier (budget / mid-range / premium, or similar) rather than a specific dollar figure, because we don't pull prices from Amazon's API and a hardcoded number would quickly go stale. Always check the actual price on Amazon before buying.

This doesn't change our recommendations

Our gear guides are based on publicly available specifications, pricing tier, and owner reviews — not on first-hand product testing, unless a specific page says otherwise. Whether or not a product has an Amazon affiliate link attached has no bearing on whether it's included in a guide or how it's rated. We'd rather tell you a product isn't a good fit than earn a commission steering you toward the wrong one.
